Is Jermaine filling the space of Michael?

Janet Jackson will not only star in Tyler Perry’s new movie Why Did I Get Married Too?, she also lends her Grammy-winning voice to the soundtrack. Jermaine Dupri exclusively tells Rap-Up.com that “Nothing” is the title of the theme song from the sequel to 2007 ’s box office hit Why Did I Get Married?, in theaters April 2.

Janet plays the recurring role of Patricia Agnew in the comedy- drama. J.D. and Bryan-Michael Cox produced the track for the Tyler Perry film. “She sounds incredible!” says J.D., who is also working with his former girlfriend on her new album.

Janet shared the news with her fans. “Hey u guys, Jermaine n I just finished the theme song for the film. I hope u like!” she tweeted.

Janet and Jermaine: Inseparable!

Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri may no longer be romantically involved, but that’s not stopping the former couple from rekindling their magic in the studio. Producer-songwriter Bryan-Michael Cox revealed that he and J. D. are reteaming with the pop star for her next album, the first since 2008 ’s Discipline. “I’m producing Janet’s album with Jermaine and it’s going to be hot,” B. Cox told Rap-Up.com at Tricky Stewart’s pre-Grammy party last Friday. “That’s all I can say so far.”

His producing partner Kendrick “WyldCard” Dean also chimed in, adding, “Some great collabos on there,” but didn’t disclose further details. Janet has been in the studio with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins working on her 11 th studio album, due this year on A&M Records.

She is also set to add her vocals to the “We Are the World” remake, singing her brother Michael’s part.

Justice Shall Prevail!!

Prosecutors plan to charge Michael Jackson’s doctor with manslaughter rather than take the case to a grand jury, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press Tuesday.

Prosecutors will file a criminal complaint against Dr. Conrad Murray, who practices in Houston, instead of taking the case before a grand jury, which is done in private, the official said. The person is not authorized to speak publicly about the case and only spoke on condition of anonymity.

The complaint would be the prelude to a public hearing in which a judge would weigh testimony from witnesses to decide if there is probable cause to try him on an involuntary manslaughter charge.

Jackson died June 25 from an anesthetic overdose. Murray maintains nothing he gave Jackson should have killed him. Murray arrived in Los Angeles last weekend in anticipation of a charging decision from the district attorney’s office, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.

“Dr. Murray is in Los Angeles for a dual purpose — on family business and to be available for law enforcement,” said spokeswoman Miranda Sevcik.

“ We’re trying to be as cooperative as we can.”

There is no official word on when an announcement about any charges might come. David Walgren, the deputy Los Angeles County district attorney handling the case, declined to comment Tuesday.

The district attorney’s office has for weeks been working closely with Los Angeles Police Department investigators to build a case against Murray.

Jackson, 50 , hired Murray to be his personal physician as he prepared for a strenuous series of comeback performances in London. He died in Los Angeles after Murray administered the powerful general anesthetic propofol and two other sedatives to get the chronic insomniac to sleep, according to the Los Angeles County coroner’s office, which ruled the death a homicide.

Murray has denied any criminal wrongdoing. “We continue to maintain that Dr. Murray neither prescribed nor administered anything that should have killed Michael Jackson,” Sevcik said.

Here's my 2 cents...Murray is responsible for the death of the King of Pop and he's IRRESPONSIBLE for the actions he took while being Michael's "Yes Man" for a check!

Promo for "Why Did I Get Married Too?"

As of right now, the cast remains the same but the movie is considered "in production" so things are subject to change.

One thing that I hope DOESN'T change is the fact that Keyshia Cole will be playing the role of "Jada" in the movie.

If you haven't already seen the trailer, please do so. It's captivating and intriguing to the point that it seems Tyler Perry may have taken some directing tips from the famous and honorable Quentin Tarantino!

Check it out on youtube. Take my word for it, you'll wish the movie was being released sooner!

Janet Covers GOTHAM Magazine, Jan/Feb Edition

Janet covers Gotham Magazine for January/February edition and does an interview speaking on the death of her brother, music that has inspired her through these times and the new album coming out this year!

Q:What have you taken away from Michael’s death?

A:When you hear people say life goes on, it’s really the truth. You can’t stop living. It becomes a part of you. I feel a bit selfish because there are times I feel I shouldn’t be doing this, but I enjoy my work and I have to keep doing it. I have to keep my life going. There are days that are harder than others.

Q:You where filming "Why Did I Get Married Too?" during your brothers tragedy...

A:There was a lot of drama going into it on my end. I actually went from Michael's service - that first service we had - and left that night to go back to work. It was tough, but at the same time it was kind of therapeutic, too. It was a good way for me to move foreward and stay busy. And I love acting - it was my first love. I had my first job at seven. I got a recording contract when I was 14, so I thought I was going to be an actress. I'm really blessed.

Q:What can we ecpect from your new album?

A:It’s going to be a little different. The writing is about life experiences. There’s a part of me that’s craving escapism, which is a sense of wanting to keep on moving with my work but also of coming to terms with reality. So I think it will be upbeat and light.

Q:What other songs move you at the moment?

A:You know what makes me feel good right now when I hear it on the radio? "Empire State Of Mind" [By Jay-Z]. When I hear the chorus... it makes me smile. And I love the way Alicia [ Keys] sings it. I was crazy about "Native New Yorker" [by Odyssey] when I was a kid. I was visiting my brother when he was doing The Wiz and living here with my sister [LaToya]. I was on hiatus from the television show Good Times. My mother asked me what I wanted to do with my time off, and I said I wanted to go to New York and visit Mike because I missed him so much. We would go to Studio 54 when I was just this 10- year-old kid and I would hear "Native New Yorker" and it made me feel so good and it never leaves your mind - that energy, that excitement, those endorphins being released within you.

Q:What do you love about New York City?

A:Everything. I love the energy–the creative energy. I’ve been here for 12 years and I will be here for the rest of my life.

Q:Talk a bit about your new book.

A:I hope it’s inspiring for all ages. I’m talking about weight loss, confidence, self-esteem—especially in your youth. It’s not an autobiography, but there are little anecdotes that I give here and there from my childhood all the way to the present that I thought would be interesting and helpful to share.

Q:Is there something you haven't done that you'd like to accomplish?

A:At some point I would like to do theater-it's something I've always wanted to do. I'll do more films. Produce. And I would like to have children.

Q:How do you stay so grounded?

A:I think it was the way I was brought up. I was very fortunate to see all of this before it ever happened to me through my brother, so I knew what to expect. I watched the way my brother handled it. It's also important who you surround yourself with. True friends aren't afraid to put you in check.

Q:What do you like to do in your spare time?

A:If I want to take a break from work, I love going to the islands. I love the ocean. I also love being with my family. I love going to the movies. I love reading - right now it's "The Help" [by Kathryn Stockett].

Q:New Year’s resolutions - do you have any?

A:I want to learn a language. I haven’t decided which, but it’s between French, Spanish and Italian. I also want to get closer to God. How do you do that? It's in your own way. We grew up Jehovah's Whitnesses. I do believe in God. I consider myself a Christian but I don't belong to a specific religion. If something really resonates with me then I will try to apply that to my life.

Keep a look out for the February issue of WONDERLAND Magazine. Janet is still going to cover it!

How To Help Haiti

Florida Flash Mob is doing all we can to spread the word and raise money for the victims of Haiti. Most of the island itself has been wiped out but those that are surviving are among young children in especial need.

Here's the number to Florida's Emergency Hotline - 1 800 342 3557

TAMPA ( 2010-1-13) - The U.S. Coast Guard has deployed several C-130 aircraft from its Clearwater air station in Florida to assess the devastation from the earthquake in Haiti. The first aircraft took off at 3 a.m. and others are scheduled to take off throughout the day. Four of the station’s six C-130 planes have been committed to the Haiti effort. The air crews are tasked with flights over the nation, according to spokesman Petty Officer 2 nd Class James Harless from the Miami Public Affairs Office. “They’re flying over Haiti getting video so that we can determine an overall assessment of the area and we can provide assistance to the best possible areas where needed,” Harless said.

Four Coast Guard cutters, already patrolling in the region, also were sent to Haiti. Their main focus will be to make sure the port is safe and ready to receive humanitarian aid. Harless estimates that more 300 Coast Guard members are helping with the relief effort and more will be added. The Coast Guard also will help secure the country for an expected influx of aid. The Coast Guard is coordinating with the U.S. State Department and the Miami-based Southern Command, the joint U.S. military command responsible for the region that includes Haiti.

Court Sets Janet Jacksons Re-hearing for Feb 23rd

-Oral Arguments Slated For Third Circuit With 30 Minutes Given Per Side

The courts will take another look at Janet Jackson's almost- bare breast. An oral argument has been set for Feb. 23 in the Third Circuit court of appeals re-hearing of the $550 ,000 indecency fine against CBS-owned stations for the 2004 Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake Super Bowl reveal.

That is according to an attorney who received the notice from the court. The argument is slated for 1:30 p.m., with 30 minutes per side, which is a lot of time as these arguments go, according to veterans of the process. "The Third Circuit does longer arguments," said an attorney for one of the parties backing broadcasters, "but this is a lot even for them. "The order shows that the court takes this case seriously.

"Veteran First Amendment attorney Robert Corn-Revere of law firm Davis Wright Tremaine, who has been representing CBS from the outset, is expected to argue the case. Oral arguments in the Second Circuit on that court's rehearing of the FCC's profanity finding against Fox for swearing on awards shows are scheduled for Jan. 13. Both courts found the FCC's indecency findings were arbitrary and capricious, but the Supreme Court disagreed and remanded both back to the lower courts. In its brief to the court, the FCC, under new chairman Julius Genachwoski, defended the $550 ,000 indecency fine it leveled against CBS and asked the Third Circuit to allow it to investigate further to prove its assertion that CBS had the means to block the reveal and chose not to do so. In its brief, CBS likened the FCC to an obsessed sea captain and essentially asked the court not to hand it another harpoon.

CBS told the court that to allow the FCC to drag the case out any further with its proposed investigation would further chill speech. "The First Amendment costs to CBS and all broadcasters inherent in dragging out this proceeding - as the FCC here requests - far exceed just the legal fees and time consumed by the prolonged prosecution of the case," said the company. "Regulatory agencies put pressure on regulated firms in numerous ways, some more subtle than others, and subjecting programming decisions to repeated government second-guessing is one of the least subtle of all." The Supreme Court has asked the Third Circuit to rethink its decision that the FCC's fine of CBS stations for the fleeting nudity in the Janet Jackson Super Bowl reveal was arbitrary and capricious.

That came after the High Court ruled that the FCC had justified citing Fox stations for fleeting profanity. The Second Circuit Court of Appeals had also found the defense of that policy "arbitrary and capricious." And while CBS in its brief said the Third Circuit could reaffirm its finding of "arbitrary and capricious" without going to the question of the constitutionality of the FCC's indecency enforcement, the company said it was time for such an updated analysis. "This Court should embrace the Supreme Court's invitation to assess the constitutionality of the indecency rules given current realities and find that most applications can no longer survive First Amendment scrutiny," the brief said.

Flash Mob Florida is searching for anyway to support Janet through this ordeal. It is very evident that the incident was an unexpected accident and was meant to be tasteful, and not offensive. Please comment with your opinions or anyway you want to help Janet through court...
